It's been a rough school year, but I'm really excited about Thanksgiving, and the abundance has gotten me thinking. Sure, it's been rougher than I like things lately, but I've still got lots.
I've got food and all the other basic necessities. Tomorrow I'll have too much food. I've got a family that cares about each other, even if some members have interesting ways of showing it sometimes. I've got friends that are in the other side of the state, but still have my back.
I mean it's by no means as much as some have, nor is my life exactly as I'd have it. But I've realized that all in all, I have enough and more than a lot of other people. I think that's what the holidays all about.
It's a chance to take a step back from wanting more, and in a sudden abundance of food and house guests realize that while you might not have it all you do have enough. You might not live in a mansion, or maybe you do but your family life has gone to hell, or maybe it something entirely different, I don't know.
The point is for a day you can stop worrying about what you don't have and be thankful for what you do. For a day you can eat more food then you need in a week and torment or be tormented by loved ones, and have it be a good day. I think thats the meaning of the Holiday. Just living with what youve got. So happy Thanksgiving yall, and good eatings!
